The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), together with the Hackathon Azerbaijan team, held the first virtual water hackathon in Azerbaijan in order to find technological solutions to existing water problems and to promote awareness of the vital importance of water.

A total of 36 teams participated in the hackathon. Participants from all over Azerbaijan proposed interesting projects to solve existing water problems. The projects included innovative solutions such as machine learning, flood forecasting applications and smart irrigation systems.

Next Step Innovation Center Aquahack was a partner in the hackathon.

Hackathon participants were awarded 3 prizes: 5000 manat for the first place, 3000 manat for the second place and 2000 manat for the third place.

Other active teams received special certificates and gifts of Hackathon Azerbaijan.
